Summer Tennis Pro-Windsor, Nova Scotia

The Gordon Hughes Tennis Club - Windsor, located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia is seeking a summer season tennis professional.

The club is a community club in the Town of Windsor, 45 minutes from
downtown Halifax . The club has three lit hard courts with clubhouse. The
facility is home to a vibrant and growing tennis program with activities
for players of all ages and abilities. The club has approximately 100 active
adult members that enjoy challenging clinics, competitive match play, and
a variety of social activities. To address the future of tennis,
we have a comprehensive junior program with over 100 players.

Children of all ages and abilities enjoy summer fun and receive high quality instruction.
The tennis professional will have the following prerequisites: experience
in competitive tennis, one to three years tennis teaching experience,
and enthusiasm with a willingness to learn. The tennis professional will need to be available for some Saturdays,
Sundays, some evenings and for all special events.

The tennis professional will receive a highly competitive salary
based on experience, percentage of lesson fees, and the possibility of
receiving a percentage of newly developed membership that the pro
attracts.

This position will begin near the end of June and end the last of August

Head Coach
St. George’s Lawn and Tennis Club

Duties:  Reporting to the Junior Development Coordinator, the Head Coach is responsible for the development and management of the junior tennis program. Including, but not limited to, planning and teaching junior and adult lessons, organizing junior team tennis program, supervising junior staff, assessing junior tennis program participants based on tennis curriculum, and marketing of junior tennis program.
Qualifications: Tennis Canada Certification – Club Professional I (formerly Coach I).

Experience: Must have experience organizing all facets of a club tennis program. Demonstrated ability to coach both children and adults, in group and individual situations. Experience coaching a junior tennis team and/or provincial level junior players. Must have experience organizing and running tournaments. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to supervise and collaborate with junior staff, and to exercise good judgment around issues relating to the tennis program. Excellent organizational and communication skills are needed.
   
Salary Range:  To commensurate based on certification and experience.
